SolpaOne tablets can be recommended for use instead of ibuprofen. If this does not help to improve her migraine, you could consider combination treatments as suggested by the ladder above. OTC migraine medicines (triptans) and antiemetics may also be considered for suitable customers.13
HOLISTIC PAIN MANAGEMENT ADVICE:
There are several ways Angela can ease the symptoms of her headaches or migraines, including:13
Using cooling gel strips placed on the forehead
Using cooling eye masks help relieve tension and block out light
Using a cutaneous stick containing levomenthol applied directly to the forehead
Drinking plenty of water

Offer ways to manage stress with mindfulness techniques, to manage her trigger
Keep a headache diary to help identify other triggers, e.g. starting her period
Avoid or limit foods and drinks known to trigger headaches and migraines, including alcohol and caffeine
Refer her to the Migraine Trust, which can offer further information and advice

Angela should see her GP if:
Her migraines are getting worse, or lasting longer than usual
She has migraines more than once a week
She is finding it difficult to control her migraines
She describes her headaches as ‘severe’
She experiences double or blurred vision
She is unable to move or experiences weakness in the arms and/or legs
She has problems speaking or remembering things
