The completion and recording of learning records should not be too difficult as for some years now the GPhC has used online systems as part of this reflective process that underpins a pharmacist's learning.

Address Amitra’s concerns by encouraging her to spend some time reading the revalidation framework and the GPhC documents/templates, which are not as onerous as she may think and clearly explain the process

Once Amitra understands the process, her fears should be alleviated.

Tell Amitra not to worry as she plans to move to New Zealand with her family in the next five years and her records probably won’t be reviewed until after that

Records need to be submitted every year on registration renewal and could be subject to review. It is important these records are completed and are true and accurate to aid reflection and continuous improvement of one’s practice.

Assure Amitra there is no need to worry as the process only takes an hour at the most

The process is straightforward and not too time consuming but, from next year, new elements such as the peer discussion and reflective account will take time to prepare for, do and reflect on. Registrants should allow sufficient time to do this and not leave everything until the last minute.
