This module looks at how community pharmacists and their teams can contribute to falls prevention and the management of osteoporosis.
Goal
To review the prevention of falls in older people and the therapeutic management of osteoporosis.
Objectives
After completing this module you should:
- Be aware of current treatments for osteoporosis and the medicine groups that are implicated in falls
- Understand the evidence in support of exercise as an intervention to prevent falls and fractures
- Be aware of the role community pharmacy can play in preventing falls and fractures.
