Health minister visits Bedminster Pharmacy’s new site in Bristol

The health minister Karin Smyth visited Bedminster Pharmacy’s new premises in Bristol where she met its team and had her annual flu vaccination.

The pharmacy’s owner Ade Williams had to find a new location for his store in the summer after the owner of its former premises on Cannon Street was awarded planning permission to create a health hub and residential complex.

Williams moved his pharmacy across the road and hosted Labour MP Smyth, who said “the new site will help Bedminster Pharmacy serve the local community for many years to come”.

“I also received my annual flu jab,” she added. “It’s so important that people eligible for a free flu jab come forward so we can protect the most vulnerable from potentially serious illness.”

Williams said: “It was great to offer Karin her flu vaccination and show her around our new pharmacy premises. Every year, Karin exemplifies why it's essential to make time for our seasonal vaccinations to stay protected. She also met our diverse and cross-sector team of trainees and staff.

“The new Bedminster Pharmacy premises offers us a great platform to continue working hard to improve the health of our local population with dedication, innovation and strong community partnerships.”
