Know when you have got there and create a 'sensory outcome'
Scenario
Most pharmacies have a consultation room, but many don't really know what to do with it. An outcome such as 'We will deliver two additional services via the consultation room in the next year' should create enthusiasm, but it could be even more compelling. The owner in the scenario has created a positive outcome in the wellbeing zone and can visualise their success. The team know what it will look, sound and feel like when they have achieved it.
As an exercise, try identifying something that you really want to achieve this year. It can be a personal or a business outcome. Imagine that you have achieved it and that you are there at the finish line?
- What does it look like? Do you have an image? Is it colourful and bright? Can you see anyone else in the picture? Can you see figures and results?
- What does it sound like? What sounds are relevant? What are you saying to yourself? What are others saying?
- What does it feel like? What does it physically feel like to be at the finish line? Now what does it feel like emotionally?
