Understand your costs: Collect information about the costs you incur in your business. These might be annual, monthly or ad hoc costs. Start by brainstorming a list of all the costs you incur.

Take a step back: Look at the skills and capability of your staff and ask yourself some questions. Are your staff being used to their maximum capacity?
