BECONASE® nasal spray is a non-drowsy corticosteroid nasal spray containing beclometasone.
It TREATS ocular and nasal symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis.6,7
BECONASE® can also PREVENT the increase in bronchial responsiveness, or oversensitivity, (e.g. inflammation or irritation in the lungs) associated with pollen exposure in hay fever sufferers.8

Many customers are not aware of how to use nasal sprays properly to achieve the maximum benefits.
In most cases people will just point the spray in any type of direction, but it’s really important to put it in the right way to reduce the chance of nosebleeds or tasting it... if you taste it, you waste it.

Correct application...
Will provide maximum relief, so it's important to ensure customers know how to use their nasal spray properly.

Shake
Shake the bottle and remove the cap. Blow nose gently.

Spray
Insert the spray in one nostril while placing a finger on the side of the nose to close the other nostril; breathe in gently and spray.

Exhale
Remove the spray and exhale through the mouth. Repeat the process to use a second spray in the same nostril.

Repeat
Repeat steps 2-3 in the other nostril.

Clean
After using the spray, wipe the nozzle carefully with a clean tissue or handkerchief, and replace the dust cap.

1. Don't breathe in too deeply or quickly
2. Don't sneeze or blow nose immediately after use
The recommended dosage...
Is two sprays in each nostril morning and evening to provide up to 24-hour relief (maximum of 8 sprays in 24 hours).
NOT for use in those under 18 years of age.6,7
To prevent and treat hay fever...
BECONASE® should be taken regularly, as recommended.
Although it provides relief from day 1, efficacy increases over time with continuous use.5
With the recommended regular use,
symptom control should be established...
It may then be possible to maintain control with fewer sprays. A dosage of one spray into each nostril morning and evening has been shown to be sufficient for some people.
However, should symptoms recur, customers should revert to the recommended dosage of two sprays into each nostril morning and evening.6,7
Refer customers to the pharmacist if they:6,7
Have an infection or ulcers in their nose
Have recently had surgery or an injury to their nose
Are taking, or have recently taken, other medicines, particularly corticosteroids (including eczema creams, asthma inhalers, tablets, injections, nasal sprays, and eye or nose drops)
Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Side effects are rare, but some customers may experience:6,7
Eye problems such as pain or blurred vision (refer to pharmacist or GP)
Nasal problems such as nose bleeds or irritation in the nose and throat
Unpleasant taste or smell.
