Learning disabilities: part five

This is the fifth and final module in our CPPE series about learning disabilities.

This module is the fifth in our CPPE series looking at the role of the pharmacy team in supporting people with a learning disability. It will consider the principles of medicines optimisation and pharmacy’s role in this.

Learning objectives:

  • Be able to describe the components of medicines optimisation as defined by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Understand how you can work with people with a learning disability and their carers to optimise their medicines
  • Be able to offer advice to people who are concerned about the use of psychotropic medicines.
