Many OTC and prescribed medicines can worsen Parkinson’s symptoms or interact with Parkinson’s medicines. For example, patients should take care with sedating medicines such as OTC chlorphenamine or cough and cold remedies, as their effect may be cumulative with sedating side effects of Parkinson’s medicines. Be aware of alternatives where possible.
